I can confirm that he was extremely poor this evening.

Re: Reece Oxford
Hooked tonight and reports from those who went are saying he was poor. Many of you have been calling for him to get first-team football but is it a case that he simply hasn't pushed on from the very talented 16-year-old we had a glimpse of against Arsenal?

Hardly ripped up any trees at Reading and has had very limited opportunities at Borussia.

There has to be a reason for his fall from grace. Acting like a Billy Big Bollocks seems to be the most likely.

Great news, get him back asap

Re: Reece Oxford
Obviously only papertalk but it's a bit worrying that we are being linked with Championship defenders (Moore at Reading) when we have decent players out on loan and BMG want to make the loan permanent.

Re: Reece Oxford
The game is being repeated now on bt.
Watched him last night and thought he did well. Good movement and didn’t waste the ball. Easy to forget he is still only 18, if he gets another dozen+ games this season he will come back the better for it and push into our squad next season.

Re: Reece Oxford
That’s the thing that worries me about him though, there never seems to be any urgency with him it feels like he plays within himself.Far to laid back to be anything outstanding which is what he was lorded up to be and what is needed to break into any PL side not just us.

Re: Reece Oxford
I watched about 60 mins of the game, and he did look pretty comfortable. Really strange to have a youngster who couldn’t get in our struggling squad playing for a team towards the top end of bundesliga.

"⚪⚫ Reece Oxford (18) vs Hamburger SV:

62 touches
40/47 passes
3 interceptions
3 clearances
2/5 aerial duels
2/2 tackles
2 fouls
2 fouls won
1 shot; hit crossbar

Looked entirely at ease in a top-level league. Very good performance."

Nah.

Re: Reece Oxford
I think there needs to be emphasis on youth. That was the only real point of contention between the support and Bilic.

Obviously they have to be good enough, but I’m of the opinion that there’s a few we have on our books that are top players and the club will miss a trick in not utilising them.

Re: Reece Oxford
Maybe they had a PLAN to not rush him in but to let him get used to the team.

I'd love to see a team in the future with the likes of Oxford, Rice, Holland & Burke in it.

Re: Reece Oxford
I keep reading they want him permanently, so it’d be interested to know what was keeping him out of the team.

With Moyes in now, we need to build for the future post Collins/Fonte, so Oxford, Rice and Burke should be at the forefront of his mind.

Re: Reece Oxford
He played 90mins at the weekend as well so now seems to have broken into the team ..... just in time for the winter break.
Hopefully he plays the rest of the season and then comes back and challenges for a place. No more loans for me.

I hope not.

Even the Bible doesn't suggest He was any good at football.
